Basic 2nd Contact Session
Athlete Level - BASIC
Basic (Grades 6-10, Beginners with Some Experience)
Who is it for? Athletes in Grades 7-10 with at least one year of organized volleyball team experience OR completion of 5+ NexGen sessions OR attendance at one four-day academy camp.

Basic Level

  • Target Audience: Athletes in grades 7-10, requiring "at least a year of organized experience" or completion of NextGen sessions.
    • Experience Match: A "year of school league experience" perfectly fits the "at least a year of organized experience" criterion.
    • Foundational Reinforcement: It offers "actual coaching on the technique," allowing her to "reinforce the proper technique [and] get feedback from coaches." This is crucial for fixing "little hitches or bad habits" and building a "stronger, more reliable foundation on the skills." As stated, "it's often about tweaking those small things."
A refund will not be issued if the session's start date is within 7 days of the cancellation.
Each player must bring a volleyball to attend the session; the academy will not supply volleyballs.
Basic (Grades 7–8)
Athletes are introduced to the fundamentals of the second contact. Focus is on learning proper hand positioning, footwork, and body control to deliver consistent sets. Players will also practice recovering difficult balls, such as free balls or tips, and making simple out-of-system plays. The goal is to understand how the second contact connects the team by keeping the play alive and providing a hittable ball.
