Athlete Level - BASIC
Basic (Grades 6-10, Beginners with Some Experience)
Who is it for? Athletes in Grades 7-10 with at least one year of organized volleyball team experience OR completion of 5+ NexGen sessions OR attendance at one four-day academy camp.
Basic Level
- Target Audience: Athletes in grades 7-10, requiring "at least a year of organized experience" or completion of NextGen sessions.
- Targeted Skill Development: This is the "really important part," as the basic level "explicitly focuses on...introducing and really drilling the seven essential volleyball skills, and serving is absolutely one of those core seven." This provides a "targeted chance for athletes to work on their hitting."
- Foundational Reinforcement: It offers "actual coaching on the technique," allowing the athlete to "reinforce the proper technique [and] get feedback from coaches." This is crucial for fixing "little hitches or bad habits" and building a "stronger, more reliable foundation for attacking." As stated, "it's often about tweaking those small things."
Refund policy - https://sites.google.com/view/elitesite/academy-refund-policy
A refund will not be issued if the session's start date is within 7 days of the cancellation.
Each player must bring a volleyball to attend the session; the academy will not supply volleyballs.
An introductory one-hour serving session is designed for athletes in Grades 7-10 who are beginners with some volleyball experience. The session's focus is on building upon the NexGen foundation by introducing essential skills, with attacking being one of the key areas.
Basic (Grades 7–8)
Athletes are introduced to the fundamentals of generating power in their attack. The focus is on proper approach mechanics, timing the jump, and using correct arm swing technique to strike the ball with more force. Players will learn how body positioning, core strength, and follow-through contribute to hitting harder while staying in control. The goal is to build a strong foundation for powerful, safe, and consistent swings.
