NexGen Sessions
NexGen (Grades 6-8, Beginners)
Who is it for? Athletes in Grades 6-8 who have attended fewer than five academy sessions and are new to volleyball.
Focus: Introducing the fundamentals of volleyball, such as basic skills and game understanding.
NexGen Sessions
- Target Audience: Athletes in grades 6-8, who are new to the sport of volleyball. Athletes who have never played organized volleyball on a tam
- Targeted Skill Development: This is the "crucial part," as the NexGen level "explicitly focuses on...introducing and really drilling the essential movement skills."

A refund will not be issued if the session's start date is within 7 days of the cancellation.
Each player must bring a volleyball to attend the session; the academy will not supply volleyballs.
NexGen Sessions (Grades 6–8 – New Players)
The NexGen program is designed to help athletes develop the foundational movement and coordination skills necessary to start volleyball training. Each session will have a specific focus, chosen and announced by the coaches, to match the needs of the group.
Rather than immediately working on the seven core volleyball skills, NexGen emphasizes the athletic building blocks of the sport:
- Moving with balance and control
- Catching and throwing
- Jumping and landing safely
- Running and agility
- Hand-eye and body coordination
These skills create the foundation athletes need before progressing into structured volleyball training.
NexGen sessions are one hour in length and take place in the multipurpose rooms with lower ceilings. No net is used during these sessions, as the focus is on movement, coordination, and ball control. For ready athletes, progression opportunities are available in the gym-based 90-minute sessions, where a full net is introduced.
